Wow! My family called me crazy but I can't imagine the alternative. When we picked Faith and her colt up at the feedlot, there was another paint filly I couldn't forget and the following week, we went back to get her too. Now that filly has developed strangles and we sometimes wonder if it was wise to risk spreading that to neighboring horse farms. Just today, we stood out in the field looking at Kate, Faith and baby Moonshine and said "but if we hadn't, they wouldn't be alive today". We watched them all run and play together as the rain started to pour down under a purple black sky. It was joyful! :D
Hopefully soon, Lucy Anne will be well enough to get out of solitary confinement and join them.
